MDA-recommended insurance plans in 1998. Our complete line of personal and professional MDA-recommended

Meet MDA's
Insurance & Affinity Products Committee
MDA's Insurance & Affinity Products Committee meets regularly to discuss the MDA-recommended insurance program's performance and to review and select new insurance plans to recommend. The Insurance Committee will only approve
insurance carriers with an A- or better rating from A.M. Best who offer insurance
plans that specifically meet the needs of MDA members.

TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. is the licensed broker/administrator for all the MDA-recommended Insurance Plans. We market, sell and service all MDA-recommended Plans.
How does TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. decide which insurance carriers to
recommend?
When the MDA makes the decision to recommend an insurance carrier;
the carrier and insurance coverage are researched by TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc.,
reviewed by the MDA Insurance and Affinity Products Committee
and selected by a Committee vote.
What is the MDA Insurance and Affinity Products
Committee?
The MDA Insurance and Affinity Products Committee consists
of eight dentists, two dental students, one legal counsel, one board
liaison and one staff person who meet regularly to discuss the
MDA-recommended insurance program’s performance.
Does TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. only sell and service MDA-recommended insurance
coverage to MDA member dentists?
No. TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. sells and services insurance plans for the employees of MDA members,
as well as, spouses and other relatives. We also offer
insurance products to dental students depending on the type
of coverage needed.
Are all the MDA-recommended Insurance Plans less
expensive than insurance coverage I can get through my local
broker?
Not necessarily. The Insurance Committee will only approve
insurance carriers with an A- or better rating from A.M. Best who offer insurance
plans that specifically meet the needs of MDA members. In most
instances, but not all, the coverage will be less expensive
through special association rates and discounts.
Can I automatically enroll into any of the 10 MDA-recommended insurance
plans?
You may automatically enroll into the MDA-recommended Association Health Plan
without medical underwriting. However, all the
other MDA-recommended Insurance Plans require underwriting. Only
through prudent underwriting by the various carriers will the
MDA program remain a stable source of insurance protection for
all MDA members.
Does TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. receive commissions from the sale of
the MDA-recommended insurance plans?
Yes. TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. receives industry standard broker commissions on all
the policies we sell.
How does TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. use the commissions they receive?
A percentage of commissions not used in the regular conduct of TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. business is returned to MDA to support the many activities of the dental association.
How can I become more knowledgeable about the types
of insurance I need for my dental practice and personal life?
TDIC Insurance Solutions, Inc. has an Insurance Buyers’ Guide
on CD available for you. Just e-mail your request for the guide
