Business Overhead Expense Insurance

What is my monthly benefit amount?
The benefit amount is listed on your quarterly billing statement. You may also register for the site and view your benefit amount in the policies-in-force section.

Is there a waiver of premium provision on my MDA-recommended Business Overhead Expense (BOE) policy?
This benefit applies to you if you become totally disabled while you are insured and receiving benefits under this plan. Premiums will be waived beginning with the first premium due date following the first six months that benefits are payable.

What is the maximum benefit period?
Benefits are payable for up to either 12 or 24 months.


Group Disability Income Insurance

What is my monthly benefit amount?
The benefit amount is listed on your semiannual billing statement. You may also register for the site and view your benefit amount in the policies-in-force section.

Is there a waiver of premium provision on the group disability income policy?
If you become totally disabled before age 60, and the disability continues for more than nine consecutive months, you won’t have to pay your premiums during the disability period.


Professional & Business Liability & Employment Practices Liability Insurance

Do I need employment practices liability (EPL) insurance?
If you have employees, you should consider having this coverage. If you don't have employees, you do not need EPL coverage.


Workers' Compensation Insurance

What is the MDA-recommended Workers' Compensation Insurance rate?
For the 2005/2006 year, the rate is $0.46 per $100 of payroll.

How do I file a workers' compensation claim?
All claims need to be filed within 24 hours. If you need to file a workers’ compensation claim, please call The Hartford directly at 800/327-3636 or visit their Web site.
